The SPIC MACAY International Convention brings together 3,000-5,000 students, volunteers, and artists from across India and the world for a week of immersive classical art experiences. Held at a major university campus, the Convention features dawn-to-midnight concerts, workshops, heritage walks, yoga sessions, and direct interactions with master artists.

Who Comes

The Gathering

The Convention draws students from every corner of India — from IITs and IIMs to rural colleges and tribal schools. International delegates from 20+ countries attend. Most participants are between 18 and 25, experiencing many art forms for the first time. The Convention is free for all participants — travel, food, and stay are supported by the community.

Everything you need to know about attending the Convention

Registration

4 questions

There is no registration fee. The cost of organising the programme, stay, food and local travel of participants is taken care of by SPIC MACAY through sponsorships.

Student groups are limited to a maximum of 5 with 1 teacher. Institutional registration is required; individual student registration is not permitted. Parents will not be allowed to register or accompany their children.

Any student above 13 years can participate.

After completing registration, a unique registration number will be sent to your email ID.

Travel

3 questions

Arrive on Day 1 morning (before 7 AM), or the evening before (after 11 AM). You cannot leave before the morning of the last day.

SPIC MACAY arranges pickup services from the nearest railway stations and bus stands. Help desks are available at major transit points.

No. You need to pay for your to-and-fro travel. Only stay, food, and local transport at the venue are covered.

Accommodation & Food

2 questions

You will be provided mattresses and pillows to sleep on in clean classrooms/hostel spaces with shared bathrooms, inside the campus.

Holistic, vegetarian food will be provided at regular intervals. Participants should not bring snacks from home.

Program

Immersive learning sessions with a Guru/Master conducted every day across the five days, designed for deep, disciplined practice.

Yes. You must attend all sessions from 4:00 AM to 9:30 PM as per your schedule, on time, without skipping.

No. There is no need to carry any materials for your workshops or Intensives — everything is provided.
